Christina Allen

Christina has been a well known fixture of the Kootenay music culture since moving here in 2007. She has completed several recital series with local musicians and is active within multiple cultural circles.

She has been the Artistic Director for the Twin Rivers Community Choir since 2012 and founded the Castlegar Community Children's Choir in 2018.

In 2019, Christina was awarded the Castlegar and District Citizen of the Year Award for her contribution to arts and culture in Castlegar and District!

Christina represents Arts and Culture and small business on several boards including the Castlegar and District Chamber of Commerce, the Castlegar and District Economic Development Board and the Castlegar and District Economic Recovery Board.

Christina brings over 25 years of experience as a teacher, director, performer, clinician and adjudicator and is a registered member in good standing with the BC Registered Music Teachers Association, the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Singers and speakers from all different backgrounds, ages and abilities seek Christina out for her ability to combine traditional voice pedagogy with understandable explanations which make sense, in an environment which is fun, creative and inclusive.

Christina enjoys coaching students of all ages and abilities from novice to professional and is passionate about helping each student find their voice.

Christina has had students successfully win many major awards and university placement at schools such as Berkley, Harvard, UCLA, McGill, University of Toronto and University of British Columbia.

Christina got married to the love of her life in 2020 and changed her name from Nolan to Allen.
